e. Resolution of Conflict
1. When consensus is not reached, final decisions will be by majority vote.
2. If conflict does occur the group agree to ask the member in conflict with other group members to propose an acceptable solution, and if an agreement is not reached the group will consult the design studio facilitators for advice.
3. Where it is deemed a group member is in breach of this contract, the team will discuss with the individual and clearly outline the required performance tasks.
4. Should no positive change occur then the team would discuss the matter with the design studio facilitators with a view of requesting expulsion from the group.
5. If a group member does not actively participate in the processes and activities required to meet their obligations within the unit, they may be given three written warnings (emails that seek resolution), and then they will be evicted from the group. “ three-strikes-and-you-are-out” policy.
3. Decision Process
a. As a general guide the group will meet, discuss and document:
1. Defining and analysing the problem.
2. Explore alternate solutions, which may be generated by brainstorming or research when no one has background on the problem.
3. Select a solution process.
4. Allocate tasks to each member.
5. Schedule the completion of all tasks.
b. Solutions will be chosen by:
1. Allowing time for all to discuss the merits.
2. Majority vote.
c. Once allocated tasks are completed, the team will meet to review each section and compile final draft well before the due date.
4. Review of Marked Work
a. Following assessment and return of submitted work, the group will meet to discuss the result with the objective of providing each with feedback to facilitate improvement for future group work.
